TECOPA HOT SPRINGS

I come here for peace and solace and to find myself once again.

These sacred and nurturing waters are a serum for my body and mind,

a hot liquid balm for my soul.

Out here in the quiet and isolation of Tecopa, I am enveloped in a new world, a world of pure, serene, spirituality.

I disrobe now and surrender my goddess – like body to the warm loving arms of these pools.

Clear, vibrant pools, of unconditional love. I am safe, I am sound, and I am healing.

A kind of kindling starts to take place in my essence as I simmer and dilute

my worries and troubles and reveal my true nature , which is pure spirit.

I feel at one with all that surrounds me. My gratitude is overwhelming.

Thank you for my blessing. I am happy and at ease

The Door to Peace (another poem from my book for the bath “Desert Dreamers”

THE DOOR TO PEACE

The door to peace lies just ahead. Let us walk though this doorway, in love and in joy, together.

A new world, a different world.

A world where blue skies abound and the fresh, clean, air is endowed with

 tranquility and calmness.

Another dimension lies beyond this door.

An in-between existence where there is pure silence and breath and the most unusual stillness.

These are the precious gifts beyond the door. The very qualities we seek to walk our life-paths in harmony and unity together.

Come with me my love and enter the portal. Have faith and courage, for in the end, this door lies inside of each and every one of us.

We may find it easily and effortlessly if we can only stop and smell the rose quartz and meditate on our true priorities in this life together:

Our wonderful life as one in peace

POEMS GIVE YOU PAUSE

POEMS GIVE YOU PAUSE

Have you ever noticed that our decisions are sounder when we pause to think?

A moment of silence, meditation, of breath, gives me such great clarity and insight that I wonder why I don’t follow this formula all the time.

Poems give you pause. My mind sends a signal to my hand which then configures my fingers to move and sway as they grip my ballpoint pen to jot down my thoughts and it is enough.

Enough time to pause, enough space to hear my inner guidance, enough nothingness to just be.

This is my essence which I can only arrive at through silence.

This pause is my truth, my present moment, and my now.

It is here in the zone where I truly speak.

my bath book DESERT DREAMERS

Blessed is this pause.

myspace_collage2DESERT BLOOMS

Blessed by all the rain this year the desert is greener than I’ve ever seen:

A truly rare occurrence of flowers blooming everywhere. What once was so dusty and devoid of color and hue,  now explodes in a kaleidoscope of wild flowers and bushes.

This year the barren wilderness is coming to life. Rising like a phoenix up from the sand and stone. Spreading her rainbow wings to reveal what was always there, lying dormant beneath the dirt.

Delicate pedals of gold and rose, violet and pink sprout forth along these  cracked and dry plains. It is a wonder and miracle. I am amazed, spellbound,  and blessed by this special and omen-like turn of events.

The seedlings had been waiting for years beneath the layers of earth and grit, to awaken to their own potential.

My mentor in life, Daisaku Ikeda, essayed on the same reflections I am having. Perhaps the oneness of mentor and disciple or perhaps a cosmic consciousness, we both realized the sameness of people and the desert wilderness. They both are yearning to reveal themselves, reveal the inner aura of light buried deep below the surface. All humanity is thirsting for a rainstorm of humanity and kindness to help in a sometimes cruel and unforgiving climate.

WE ARE ALL BUDDHAS! WE ARE ALL PURE SPIRIT AND SOURCE! WE HAVE A MISSION OF GLORY AND GOOD. We are the source of gentle showers, a gift of life flowing from the heavens to bring out the fragrance and color of the seedlings below. Let us nurture this planet in love. LET US ALL DANCE IN THE RAIN TOGETHER.

I WOULD LIKE TO SPEND MY LIFE COLLECTING SUNSETS

I would like to spend my life collecting sunsets.

Brilliant memories of red, yellow, violet and indigo.

I would then have a life filled with vibrant tapestries woven in golden threads of sunlight and dusk.

And as I age gracefully I will live a life of freedom and joy.

Thus when I look back on all the splendid sunsets of my life, I’ll know , I’ll truly know I’ve  lived an extraordinary existence with nothing to regret .

I WILL BE SERENE AND FULL OF PEACE.

DESERT DREAMERS

The desert to some may seem like an arid wasteland,

barren and desolate, parched and lifeless.

But to the dreamer it is not.

The thirsty soul of the dreamer is enchanted by the magic and wonder of this special place.

The dreamer alone savors the fragrance, the aromatic scent of Rosemary and Sage, knowing it is natures hallowed incense, sacred and purifying.

The dreamer sees.

They behold the tiny golden wild-flowers hidden in the cracks of the dry, puzzle-like earth.

They cherish the fact that they may be witness to all these wondrous gifts of the wilderness.

Twinkling night stars displayed like a diamond necklace on the black velvet backdrop of the desert sky, dance to celestial melodies and perform for the chosen few.

The dreamers,

the ones who lift their faces upwards toward the heavens in worship.

I wasn’t always a disciple. I scorned the desert, unappreciative of its secrets and shadows. Unaware of its rapture and magic spells.

Now I have awakened from my sleep to dream.

I have awakened to dream and to be a dreamer.
