DEEP COVER ~ Remembering who we really are ~

Your practice of the Buddhist teachings will not relieve you of the sufferings of birth and death in the least unless you perceive the true nature of your life.

From the Gosho * On Attaining Buddhahood in This Lifetime

….Josie Toda’s “Quote” on “Our Present Form”….

“Outwardly, we might look like ‘Bodhisattva poverty’, or ‘Bodhisattva sickness’, but that is merely a role we’re playing in the drama of life. We are in fact bonafide Bodhisattvas of the earth! Since life is a grand drama, we should thoroughly enjoy playing the role we have undertaken and demonstrate the greatness of the Mystic Law”.

{Josei Toda}

I recently saw a movie an old movie from 1992 called ” Deep Cover”.

It starred  Laurence Fishburne and Jeff Goldblum.

It’s a story basically about a cop who went so deep under cover that he forgot who he was. He forgot his original mission to capture the crooks and to banish evil. He became the environment that he lived in, drugs, greed, and ruthlessness.

This movie touched a deep chord in my heart as I believe we are all undercover to one extent or another.

Our true nature is radiance, light, purity, goodness and expansion. We are unlimited. We are Buddhas!

We are Spiritual beings having a human experience, not the other way around.

And so..

We have forgotten.

We have forgotten our truth, our purpose.

We have forgotten that we are Buddha, God, Source, Divinity.

We have also forgotten that we made a promise in the remote past to go through exactly all of these trials and burdens to give hope to our friends. That we are champions and our example will inspire courage in all those around us.

Our current reality is nothing but an illusion. Our truth is the visions, the dreams that we keep close to and in our hearts.

Don’t look at your feet planted on the ground but Look Up to the Crystal Clear Skies of your Soul.

Recently I took some notes on a Buddhist simulcast where I heard the question:

“How can we encourage the members?”

  • If you want to actualize your dreams you have to base everything on faith. (Not to base your life on the current realities )
  • Not everything goes the way you want it to and if you ask yourself “Why me?’ then you become  discouraged.
  • You have a very important and special mission in this world that only you can fulfill.
  • You pledged to use your life (as it is) to give hope to others by your victories.

It seems as though (as said by an S.G.I. Buddhist leader) we spend a lifetime remembering, forgetting, remembering and forgetting the basic concept that Happiness lies inside and that we are all Buddhas (Source, Energy, Divinity) and therefore have Unlimited Potential.

It’s not about waiting for things to get better to get going. It’s about knowing that this is all perfect just the way it is.

We are perfect just the way we are!

These situations that I am going through right now are my mission!

It all starts with my Human Revolution.

“Let me do my Human Revolution so that I can help others!”

Another S.G.I. Buddhist leader said “Everything that happens to you IS an answer to your prayer”

I say “In order to manifest a dream we have to become equal to that dream”

We need to vibrate at the same energy as our dreams and sometimes that entails lessons/self reflections so that we may spiritually grow as big as that dream. This is precisely why it’s wonderful to dream as big as you can. It will make you grow in ways you cannot even fathom.

“Don’t die with your Music still in you.” Your Music = Your mission

(a paraphrase of the Emerson quote)

You are important in this world, you have a unique mission that no one else can accomplish.

Your victory and happiness is your light to shine on this world and YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

YOU ARE MAGNIFICENT.

I AM MAGNIFICENT.

YOU ARE IMPORTANT.

I AM IMPORTANT.

YOU ARE PURE RADIANCE.

I AM PURE RADIANCE.

YOU ARE LOVED.

I AM LOVED.

YOU ARE PERFECT AND YOUR LIFE IS PERFECT JUST THE WAY IT IS.

I AM PERFECT AND MY LIFE IS PERFECT JUST THE WAY IT IS.

And by the way (although I wouldn’t want to spoil the movie for you if you happen to find it)

at the very end, Laurence Fishburne (the cop) remembers who he  truly is and the bad guys get punished and he serves his noble purpose.

Let us please not wait until the very end to get this concept!!

Happy now!

Love to you all
